The grudge I’ve got with property managers is that you pay a percentage of the rent – that’s a lot, it’s up to 10%. KITT’s pricing system is a lot fairer. The main differences with KITT are the pricing, the communication which is great, and the software that goes with – it’s very helpful and improving all the time, and puts all your documents in one place.
I’d really like to see KITT give standard property managers in New Zealand a shake up, because they’re really due for it!

Since switching my property manager over to KITT Property Management, I feel like a heavy weight has been taken off my shoulders. Previously I was with another property manager (Harcourts) and the lack of communication regarding urgent repairs that needed to be carried out on the property was frustrating and embarrassing. (For example I received a message saying there was an urgent problem with the sewage on a Friday afternoon and couldn’t get hold of my property manager all weekend). And the logistics were a nightmare (for example at one stage they lost the key to my rental property).
In comparison the experience that I have had with KITT Property management has been a joy. Not only are the fees considerably fairer; the service is considerably superior. Amanda is trustworthy and reliable and communicative. With KITT I feel like they value me as a customer; rather than seeing the house as another property. I relied on my previous property manager to collect the rent.
This year I am able to confidently take a step back; knowing that KITT will do a good job managing any repairs that need to be done as well.

I am pleased that I joined up with KITT Property Management. After bad experiences with 2 other property management firms, I am pleased to say that I now have no problems and my tenant has told me the same. It is so nice to have that go between person, who seems to have the right balance between keeping me happy with a no problem rental (at I might add an extremely reasonable price), and a nice approachable demeanour with the tenant. Amanda was extremely nice to me at the start as I was useless and a bit scared of computers. She nursed me through the signing up palaver and we were away!
